Rehearsals Begin for Fall Season!
The Athens Choral Society invites new members for our fall 2006 season. Our performance in November will celebrate the 250th anniversary of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's birth, and will feature Mozart favorites such as Missa Brevis in B flat, Ave Verum Corpus, Laudate Dominum, and Regina Coeli. Rehearsals are held every Tuesday from 7-9 pm beginning September 5th at Athens First United Methodist Church. New members are welcome to join us for any rehearsal during September.
Something new this fall - our director Stephen Mitchell will be offering free lessons in Basic Music Sight Reading Skills from 6:00-6:45 pm on September 12, 19, and 26, before regular rehearsal. If you love to sing, but feel intimidated by reading music or would just like a refresher course, then these classes are for you. Members and non-members are welcome to attend any class, and to try out your new skills in the regular ACS rehearsals at 7:00. The Athens Choral Society is a community chorus open without audition to any adult who loves to sing. Membership dues, which include the cost of music, are $25 for the fall season.
